Update on Liz

I've been spending my evenings with Liz and enjoying every stitch. I am still missing one skein - which I ordered Italicand was told that it was in the mail ELEVEN days ago. Now, I know the mail is slow but really 11 days? I have emailed asking for confirmation that it was mailed and 3 emails later, no reply from the store owner - very frustrating! Back to Liz, she is a beautiful sampler and I do understand why some people have been frustrated with her. The chart is very interesting and I would love to understand why there are so many missing pieces. Nonetheless, I prefer symmetry and am fixing the errors as I find them. I am on Page 6 of 12 - it's a fast stitch (especially when you are missing a fiber, but I digress). Forgive the wrinkles - I just didn't want to climb the stairs to the iron.

Speaking of stairs, I had a great report from the doc. My knee is healing wonderfully. The x-rays show just a small space between the bones so I'm not 100%. I begin physical therapy on Monday - 2-3 days a week for SIX weeks. I have started exercising my knee and when I'm at home, I take the brace off. The thought of not having my brace to protect my knee in case it gives out is a bit scary - a thought I shared with my friends. One of which showed up that night with a 'gift' - a cane. Not a cool looking cane but an ugly, old lady industrial silver cane w/a black rubber handle - gotta love of my friends.

It's going to be a quiet weekend - I took 3 tests today and completed a discussion board assignment. I have three additional classes that begin on Monday. So my schedule will really be busy beginning next week. I'm going to spend some more time with Liz and begin my 1st ornament for 2010 and doing some cooking.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of stitching time.

Nice progress on Ms Savilles! What a bummer about the fiber! Don't you hate when a shop owner doesn't respond to you like that? Ugh!!! Hope it comes soon! Good luck with the knee too -- I can imagine it's scary not to have the reassurance of the brace. The cane sounds nice. Not! lol! Good luck with all your classes! (How was Abundance????)

Glad your knee is almost 100%! Good luck with physical therapy! Ugly cane definitely beats out falling and re-injuring your knee!

Liz is looking mighty grand! Love the colors in it! After taking 3 tests, you deserve to spend lots of time with Liz!

I think after all you've been through, you deserve a bit of down time to relax. Your Liz progress is fantastic - I really need to pick her back up, too. Maybe tonight... I hope your PT goes well and that you are out running in no time! Hope your fibers come soon, too. It doesn't make me happy when shop keepers don't respond.

I'm glad to hear you're on the mend though! But did it provide an excuse to stitch more? ;-)

Ms Saville is looking gorgeous. Ahh, there are missing pieces? No wonder I was gnashing my teeth while stitching this! ha ha. Listen, if you need any of the floss, give me a shout as I have all the recommended floss hanging around!

So much progress on Elizabeth! I received this chart in my last order from my LNS-- I can recommend them if you are looking for one who gets you product!! They are VERY good. Hope your thread comes soon, or gives you an email...

Glad your knee is making progress too-- that is very good news.

Oh Cari I hope your knee will be 100% soon! And that would be very frustrating waiting for that thread for so long! Your stitching is gorgeous though if that's any consolation :)

Liz is gorgeous! The colors in this sampler are so pretty. I hope you get your thread soon. How frustrating not to get a reply.

Take good care of your knee. Smokey is such a beautiful kitty!

Your Elizabeth is looking fabulous. Sorry you're having an irritation over the missing fiber... I don't understand a shop owner's thought process when they fail to answer a customer's e-mail. Poor customer service.
Yeah for the good news about your healing knee.

Eleven days for fibers - what were they doing - spinning the floss and dying it? LOL Hopefully it will arrive in the mail soon. Liz is looking wonderful and I'm really thinking of moving her up the to-do - such nice colors and such a pleasant design. Yours is really coming along.

And that's good news on your leg. You'll hopefully be 100% soon and won't be afraid of having the brace off of it. Hope that you get a lot of stitching done. You deserve some quiet stitching after three tests, etc.!!

I'm so glad that you had good news from the doctor, Cari! I hope you're back up and running to the LNS in no time flat. ;)

Your Elizabeth is GORGEOUS. Really stunning. I think I might have to redo my fabric... I have Meadow Rue, which looks really dark in comparison to yours. I hope your missing fiber comes soon.

Liz is so beautiful and I just love the colors of this. You have a lot done it looks like too! I hope your knee is doing lots better. I have had knee surgeries and I can just imagine how you must be feeling. I found exercises online and did them and they helped me quite a bit. I should do a few more but exercise to me means moving that needle up and down on the fabric. Your kitty is really cute too!

Liz looks fabulous!! :) I hope your thread has come in by now. That ordeal sounds frustrating. Smokie is such a cutie! I have four outdoor cats. I would have a dozen if my husband would let me. :) Good luck on your classes.

Hope you are having a great weekend!
